This Central Coast kitchen contained several strong timber elements, including the benchtop, flooring and posts. Resurfacing the cabinet fronts in satin Vivid White reduced the visual weight of the timber and allowed the retained natural features to stand out.
The lighter cabinetry changed the balance of the room without requiring the sound kitchen structure to be removed. It is a practical example of using colour selectively: keep the timber elements that add warmth, then refresh the surrounding cabinetry for contrast.
